Global Mountain Activity

GMAC

GMAC is a monthly 2m contest from a GMA reference. The goal is to work as many kilometres as possible — portable, outdoors and with real outdoor radio spirit.

What is GMAC?

GMAC stands for Global Mountain Activity Contest.

It is a regular activity contest on the 2m band, where you operate portable from a GMA reference.

GMAC is fun:
Go outdoors, set up your antenna, exchange locators and collect kilometres.

When does GMAC take place?

Who can participate?

Licensed radio amateurs can participate by operating portable from a listed GMA reference.

Operation must follow the portable GMA rules.

What is exchanged?

The exchange is simple:

No serial number is required.

How are points calculated?

Why join GMAC?

GMAC is a great way to create real 2m activity from summits and outdoor locations.

Log and scoring

Upload or enter your log in GMA as usual.

The software automatically detects matching GMAC logs and lists them on the GMAC page.

The annual score is based on the best monthly results according to the rules.

Tip

Tuesday evening between 19:00 and 21:00 local time is often the most active period.

A small directional antenna and a good location often matter more on 2m than high power.

Rules
